A business that has traded for ten or fifteen years has produced a decade of quotes, job files, invoices, service emails and supplier threads. In the lower middle market that record usually sits in a handful of systems: an accounting package, a job or field-service system, a shared drive and a few inboxes.

That history can be useful precisely because so little of it is public. A contractor's completed jobs, a distributor's order exceptions, a bookkeeping firm's reconciliations: each records how specialist work actually gets done, from the request to the result.

The process is built around an owner's time. We start with one conversation about what the business does and where its records sit. If there is a plausible asset, we introduce you to our licensing partner, who assesses it and runs any buyer process. You make the decisions that matter: whether to proceed, what is included, and whether the terms are worth taking.

A licence is not a sale of the business, an equity raise or a loan. You keep the records and keep operating as you do today. Size does not set the value; the completeness and usefulness of the history do, and the partner's assessment establishes both. We are not legal counsel.

Typical sources

  • Accounting and invoicing (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage)
  • Job, field-service and work-order systems
  • Quotes, orders and estimates
  • Customer service inboxes
  • Shared drives and completed job folders
  • Email threads with customers and suppliers

A decade of operating history is a decade of work nobody else can reproduce.

The business does not need to be large for its records to be useful. They need to be complete.

How We Keep It Light

One conversation to start

We begin with what the business does and which systems it runs. No access, no exports and no paperwork at this stage.

Specialists do the specialist work

Assessment, rights and security review, preparation and the buyer transaction are led by our licensing partner's teams, not by your staff.

You stay in control

Nothing is assessed, prepared or licensed without your approval, and you decide what is excluded.

One point of contact

We stay alongside you from the first call to your decision, so you are never handed over and left to work it out alone.

How It Works

01.
A conversation

One call on what the business does, which systems hold its history and roughly how many years remain. No access needed.

02.
An introduction

If there is a plausible asset, we prepare a short factual brief and, with your agreement, introduce you to our licensing partner.

03.
The assessment

The partner looks at what exists, tells you whether it fits current buyer demand, and explains what preparation would involve.

04.
Your decision

If a buyer makes an offer, you weigh the terms with the partner, with us alongside you. Nothing is licensed without your approval.

Other Segments

01.
Middle Market

Several departments and longer histories. We find the executive sponsor and the system owners, and bring the partner a well-defined opportunity.

Middle Market
02.
Enterprise

Records across departments and subsidiaries, under formal governance. We start with one unit and one sponsor, and the partner scopes from there.

Enterprise

Sitting on years of records?

Tell us what the business does and which systems hold its history. We will tell you whether it is worth an assessment and what happens next.

A senior operator will respond within a few hours. Nothing is shared with our licensing partner until you agree to an introduction.
